cold war

it was cold war between my mil and us during the weekend. it all started on thursday or friday night. As usual, she cooked dinner, we were having dinner. then she said she wanted to discuss something. It's the maid thing again. but one statement from her makes me very mad. 'You all where got scold her? everytime smile at her.' that night was quite a tense night. i went up to my room after dinner.

On friday, she was not feeling well again. actually i heard her crying when i left for work. anyway, she went to see a doc.

On saturday, i decided to clean up my own room. so after came back from breakfast, she was still not feeling well. The maid was about to prepare to cook the children's lunch. while the maid was in her room, i quickly told the maid that there is no need to cook their lunch. For this, she got angry. and for the whole day, she kept herself to the room.

actually i didn't know what she was angry about. it was only later in the evening, my sis-in-law managed to fish out something from her. then she went on and on and said how we never buy the rice when she told us to. (my father in law said that he got ntuc vouchers, so can use it to buy rice)

anyway, on sunday, after i knew what happened, i just continued on with my own stuff. I cleaned up their room, cooked lunch for the children and then clean up the kitchen myself. i will not order the maid to do anything. the maid can just go and serve her.

anyway, i need to rush off for meeting already. but this incident just makes me think, things were alright when it first started out. community living is good. but after some time, will it prove what other people used to say? never stay with your in laws.

i dun need her to be angry over little things with the maid. she keeps saying that the maid listens to us and the maid talks back to her. but have she asked herself how she had talked to the maid? if every day someone keeps shouting at me, i would definitely retaliate back.

i'm unhappy with this issue. sometimes, i think the best is, i will get rid of the maids, that is the best
