Max wouldn't let me go to work

this morning, max woke up while we were getting ready. so he insisted on going to the sofa and not want to sleep.

brought him down to the sofa, he had his milk, but he was feeling down. Then when it's time for us to go, he started crying. he refused to let me go to work despite whatever i told him. he didn't allow the maid to carry him, he held on to my neck and cried so loudly.

i harden my feelings and just left. he cried so loudly. my father in law woke up to pacify him while we went out. even as i reached downstairs, i could hear his cry. That is how loud he was.

so i promised him and promised myself that i will go back home as soon as work finishes.

you know, being a lady is very troublesome. when the day of the month comes, you cannot wear light colour bottom. when you sleep, you also cannot turn violently, otherwise the pad kena adjusted and then it may stain your bedsheet. then there is the overnight one to use during night and heavy flow, then there is the regular one and finally the liner ones for lighter days at the end of the mensuration.

very troublesome.

today i feel super efficient. but now, i feel super tired. june is coming to an end, it's good. June 09 has been eventful, challenging.

btw, hope my gor yee is feeling better now. she is hospitalised. wait, let me give her an sms first.

recently, my sis in law was also hospitalised for something. she had an operation. anyway, she is discharged now and we will be going to her home to visit her tomorrow.

so you see, besides, the H1N1, car thingy, holidays, there were other things that kept me occupied and worried. so i'm glad that things are slowly settling down.

it's like the sand in the water like that. suddenly, someone came to shake the jar and the sand started flying around in a whirl. now that we have settled slowly the problems, it's like the sand is settling down once more.
collected the new car this evening, so excited. it was like it was a long wait from morning time with the meeting going on. so finally at 6 plus, the meeting ended and i was like charged back home to get the kids and quickly charged down to pandan gardens. i reached there like 7.20pm and the security guard is going to close the gate at 7.30pm.

all of them are excited. tomorrow morning, we will then be unpacking the stuff properly and give the car a wash.

Day 1

14/06 (Sunday)

We woke up early to get ready to go to the airport. At the airport, after we checked in the luggage, we entered the departure hall. We had breakfast at Burger King, then we walked around to browse at the shops. That is where we saw the xbox 360 and free internet access. After a while, didn’t realize that we should start moving towards the boarding gate. And the boarding gate is so far… we actually walked very fast and when we reached there, we were almost the last few to board the plane.

At one point of time, while descending, Max couldn’t take the pain in the ear. He kept pointing to his ears, quickly distracted him with some pictures and conversation. In the end, it was Mabel who couldn’t take the pain, she cried.

After landing, I was quite impressed with the improvement to Phuket International Airport. It was clean. You see, 12 years ago, we came to Phuket before, the airport wasn’t like this then. So I was pleasantly surprised.

A van took us to Club Med. On the way there, I was actually (again) quite surprised by the change in Phuket. The roads were wider, there were more upscale shops, notably furniture malls and a mega mall, something like our Giant. There were quite some development in Phuket since 12 years back

When we reached Club Med, we were welcomed by 2 GOs. They brought us to the reception area, gave us towel to freshen ourselves up, tea to drink. They explained to us the different locations of different places and activities that we could do. (actually I wasn’t paying attention, I just wish I could go to the hotel room straight)

They brought us to the room, showed us around the room. There were actually 2 life jackets in the wardrobe for emergency use. So I pretended to ask, ‘what sort of emergency?’ actually at the back of my mind, I’m quite glad that there were provisions for tsunami. There is no bathtub!!! Actually the day before, mabel and I went to body shop to buy bath salt, thinking that if it is rainy day, we could soak ourselves in bubble bath.

When the luggage came into the room, the children immediately changed into their swimming costumes and wanted to swim. Went to the pool, water aerobics lessons had started. After a while, we suggested to go to the beach.

At first, the children were reluctant to go into the sea. The waves were huge as compared to the ones they see at East Coast. But slowly, one by one, after some hand holding and advice, they loved the beach!

Went for a shower then a late lunch. Then we went back to the room to rest. It had been a tiring day for all of us. Only Mabel didn’t take an afternoon nap. Then when we woke up, it’s beach time again.

After dinner, at 9.30pm every night, there is a show. And the theme for each day is different. The children enjoyed the show. After the show, usually followed by dancing and marcus was sure brave and went up to the stage to dance.

Day 2

15/06 (Mon)

Brought the children to the Mini Club. Marcus and Mabel had no problem joining the group. Actually Marcus had no problem, Mabel was a little shy. But with the brother, she is able to stick to her brother. Then we brought Max to the Petit Club. But he couldn’t let me go, he wanted me to join him. Initially, I joined him and played with him and the GO in the gym. After a while, he was distracted, I sneaked out. I sticked around outside, and a minute or two later, he cried so loud. So in the end, we brought him out of the petit club.

I couldn’t really recall what we did with Max on that day. We laze around, explore the area a little more, went swimming, went to the beach. Bought a float and some pails for playing with the sand for Max.

The bar area’s decoration also changes with the theme every day. For tonight, they place low tables and you actually sit on the floor around the table. Very comfortable. At 9.30pm, the children went to watch the show. Then they danced. This time as they were not on stage, I could only take videos of their back view.

Day 3

16/06 (Tues)
Tuesday was an overcast day and rainy day. No sunlight. As usual, Marcus and Mabel went to the Mini Club. Today, we managed to walk to the Archery section and Clubhouse to take a look. The Archery section was closed. (btw, due to high waves, we were unable to go to Phi Phi Island) Walked further to the clubhouse. The sports equipment were there for you to use, you just had to return it after use. So we played tennis, (then it started to rain), squash, golf, basketball and soccer. Then we went to the gym to do some workout, omg, 17 mins of pedaling only burnt 23 calories. i think I can forget about slimming down.

After lunch, it was swimming time. But it was so cold. We went back to the room to have a shower and then we walked to the archery section again (as there is an opening hour, it’s not open for 24 hours) so managed to try a few rounds of archery. I hit myself in the arm and I think I’m lousy at archery.

After dinner, again we laze around the bar area. Marcus made a new Korean friend called Alex. So after the concert, Marcus and Mabel wanted to play with Alex for a while, so I stayed behind while hubby brought Max back to the room first. Lying on the deck chair by the pool, it was very windy.

Day 4 and 5

17/06 (Wed)
Today, Marcus and Mabel didn’t want to go to the Mini Club, so after breakfast, we went to the clubhouse first. Met Alex at the clubhouse. His parents were playing golf and he was resting at the clubhouse. We played basketball and soccer and Alex joined us in this game. Our stamina were very poor, we got tired easily. We rested and have drinks. Then Marcus and Alex played golf (practice putting) and the rest of us played tennis. I think we picked up tennis balls more than hitting the tennis balls. As we walked to the swimming pool, we stopped by the circus and the children played flying trapeze and jumping trapeze.
After this, we went to the beach and then to swim. After lunch, we went to play table tennis. I shall not comment on the children’s table tennis skills. Of course, they didn’t get any proper training and playing table tennis on Nintendo wii is very different from the real one. After a while, we went back to swimming. At 3pm, Marcus wanted to try archery, so hubby brought him there. Mabel continued swimming while Max was a little tired.

In the evening, hubby tried out the flying trapeze and jumping trapeze. Think that is how he sprained his left wrist.

The show at 9.30pm was a circus show. Marcus and Mabel went to watch the show first and we joined them later. After the show, we went back to the room to rest.

18/06 (Thurs)
Finally, we had to go back to Singapore. After breakfast, we packed our luggage and the children wanted to have the last try at flying trapeze and jumping trapeze. It was a nice trip where everybody enjoyed themselves. It was also certainly a great time for bonding and you get to see another side of your children that you may not have noticed.
