HK second day

suppose to wake up 7 plus, ended up 830. quickly got changed, went down for breakfast. again, along the streets, one of those shops. oh yah, forgot to mention, last nite, when we came back from LKF, the street was still so busy, it's like almost 12 plus close to 1am. some shops are still open, some eateries are still open.

anyway, today's iti is to go to the outlying islands. went to the ferry terminal. again bought the one day island hopping pass. HK $30, worth it. ferry took about 45 mins to reach lantau islands. then took bus no. 2 to the great buddha there. 45 mins ride. but the 45 mins was interesting, get to see some of the things around the island. oh yah, quite a lot of expatriates live on lantau island.

finally reach the great buddha. beautiful place, cold, cos it's quite high up in the mountains. breezy. great buddha looks magnificiant. i think it's the serenity and peacefulness i get from the place. bought the tickets, oh my, got to climp up 268 steps in order to reach the buddha. climbed slowly. next, just walk around. inside, there are many tablets where the ashes are put. spotted Anita mui's tablet. pay her respect.

then, went to the temple to take a look. also at the temple's canteen there got free food. becos we bought the ticket, so can redeem free vegetarian meal. great, lunch is settled.

then took bus back and waited for ferry to go to peng chau. but we have about 45 mins to wait, so we went to the open pub, cafe nearby the terminal to have a drink. can face the sea while drinking also. cool! also we sort of like walked one round, saw at least 3 shops opened by ang moh. they are really 'invading' the lantau island. anyway, the open cafe is also managed by an angmoh and his filipina wife, i think.

took boat to peng chau. a very small fishing island. one hour can tour the whole island. i think no ang moh here, but a lot of elderly people.walked around the island, no need for map, will not get lost and villagers are very helpful, can ask for directions. walk along the coast, sampans are moored near the coast, people were catching crabs, (low tide) then also at 4 plus, the family (woman and grandma) are playing with their children, standing on their balcony which is overlooking the sea. sea view! oh, there's plenty of mahjong playing on the island. the sound is unavoidable.

took a ferry back to kowloon, went back to hotel. took a rest. when we were on our way back to the hotel, bought some food to eat. these are really cheap, food like sotong balls or squids strung on satay stick. they will boil the thing for you and u can also buy some soup to go with it. bought this one that looks like sharks fin soup, starchy. went back to the hotel, had a small feast, rested for a while.

at nite, went out, walked along the streets. finally saw this unique restaurant which has one of the set with roasted pigeon. decided to step into this restaurant. very funny, it's really west meets east kind of thing. anyway, ordered one set of that roasted pigeon dinner. my, when the serving comes, it was big serving. i mean there is soup (check this out, cream of chicken with sharks fin) there were a few more dishes, can't remember them.

then after eating, it's back to LKF again. my goodness, from far, u can see plenty of pple standing on the streets of LKF. happening man. walked around, went straight into the first one we saw that there are seats to sit down. then had one drink. pub hopping, but ended up in the same one as the first nite. this time, we are smarter, took a seat near the bar. hubby said i was very engrossed looking at other people ard me. i dunno, as i was looking at them, i was looking at their dressing. the ang mohs, they look so happy, unwinding themselves, the locals, that smirk on their face when they are talking to ang moh, like we should envy them for having ang moh as friends like that. then there are these two ladies, or this lady, think she looks like the boss of the pub. local, of some age, trendy. she was like standing at the door there, talking to customers. but the people she choose to speak to are ang moh males. and she was like all over them like that. slut!

then there was this local gal with ang mo also, sitting at the bar. they actually kissed in public! the thing about their kiss is that, they were so into the kissing, both of them close their eyes. i was like watching them if they could be stripping the next moment or not. then there is this couple, think china couple. so rich, never finish their drink, went off already. i was like, so wasted man. hey, beer is not cheap in HK, comparable to Singapore ok.

anyway, we didn't manage to catch the last MTR back, so need to take a taxi. check this out, the journey was not far, it's like ang mo kio to toa payoh like that, and the fare comes out to HK $189. about S$20! my goodness, no wonder, their taxi, no business.

anyway, reached hotel, again slept like a log. feeling a bit sad. cos tmr going back to singapore already.
