Hong Kong Day one

went to HK on 9/9 to 11/9. just wanted to talk about my feelings and thots before i forget.

first day when we reach, wasted some damn time waiting for people to board the transport which bring us to the hotel. next time, i'll know how to travel from the airport to the hotel, no problems.

oh yah, the hotel room, surprisingly, it's spacious. i mean i've heard of pple telling me how cramp the room is, so this is a nice surprise. but the hotel was renovating, so the view outside was like scaffold and green net. not much of a view. as soon as we put down our luggage, went out to explore the area.

oh no, we went for lunch first, starving, hotel downstairs, along the street, some noodle shop. my, the streets/roads, so narrow. the pavement so near to the road and the pavement, so 'big', enough for single traffic only.

next, we took MTR, bought the HK$100 tourist pass which will enable us to take numerous trips for 24 hrs. then went to the ferry terminal to check out the ferry time.

went to Lan Kwai Fong for happy hour. it's really a slope as shown in those drama serials. took the pub's matchbox, nice design, will never get a pass in Singapore, cos it shows a woman lying down, exposing her breasts. most pubs in LKF are managed by ang mohs.

after that, went back to hotel. booked a tour for the night. the transport is on time. of course we were on time too, then first stop, seafood dinner at tuen mun. nice spread. scallops, crabs, crayfish and some other sea food not tried in Singapore.

next stop, avenue of stars. nothing special. just their hand print only lor, but then it's quite dark already, so what's can't see much too. then 8pm, there is this laser show. from kowloon where we were standing, we look across to HK island and they decorated 18 buildings with special bulbs and laser and then for about 20 mins, there is this laser show. but that nite, the commentary is in chinese, so cina. my hair stands on end.

next, took the star ferry across to HK island. i think HK people take ferry daily, so taking ferry is like taking taxi for them. anyway, after alighting, took a trip on the open air double decker bus. then saw the HSBC building, according to one of them, she said that this is the building where the 'vampire' drama serial was taken. then went to the tram station, took a train up to The Peak. my goodness, the tram was literally 45 degrees, we were in the tram and we were also 45 degrees slanted. all the houses look so slanted. one ang moh actually had to stand up and said he wanted to balance, can't take the slant. when we reach The Peak, the view not as spectacular becos it was quite foggy that nite. nevertheless, it was breathtaking.

next, we took the transport back, bring us to temple street. it's just like any pasar malam. many people looking, not many people bought things. just bought a belt and a bracelet.

quickly took a MTR to LKF again. went to anther pub, sat down. then came this big group of people, mixed, with ang mohs, locals. think it's a company thing. but wat strike me was that when ang moh let their hair down to party and enjoy, they are really wild.

stayed until about 12 plus, still manage to catch the MTR back. slept like a log that nite.
